AUDITIONS

Alum of Dissonance Dance Theatre can be seen in NYC, Europe and nationally in major companies.

We are looking to diversify our dancer roster with talented and hard-working dancers looking to assist in the emerging development of DC's only African-American managed contemporary ballet company. Alum of Dissonance Dance Theatre can be seen in NYC, Europe and nationally in major companies.

Audition will consist of a Contemporary Ballet Class/Contrasting Dance Combination. Apprentices/DDT II members will be selected from this audition.

Positions

Dissonance Dance Theatre (Paid Stipends)

DDT is seeking classically and contemporary trained dancers to add to its ranks. 2013-2014 tentative season schedule includes local Washington, DC performances, NYC APAP, and NACA conference.

We currently operate on a 2 day rehearsal schedule. 2013-2014 we plan to operate on a 3 day schedule.

Apprenticeships (Non Paid Position)

A selected number of dancers will be considered for apprenticeship for further training.

DDT II (Non Paid Position)

DDT II is Dissonance's junior company. 2013-2014 performs locally throughout Washington, DC. Tentative performances include festivals, showcases and one annual concert. 2 day schedule for DDT II members.

What to Bring

Headshot, bodyshot, resume, and ballet shoes (pointe shoes are not necessary).

Non-professionals auditioning for an apprenticeship can bring a faceshot and clear body picture with a short bio of their dance experience.
